An electrical construction scope should do more than list fixtures and panels. It should explain how the electrical work connects to the drawings, equipment, schedule and other trades.
Start with the current project documents
Identify the latest architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings. Note revisions clearly so estimators and field teams are working from the same information.
Define equipment and interfaces
List equipment requiring power, controls or coordination. HVAC systems, pumps, imaging equipment, backup power and motor controls can affect distribution and sequencing.
Clarify responsibility
State who supplies equipment, who installs it, who provides final connections and who coordinates inspections. Clear responsibility prevents gaps between contractors and suppliers.
Include schedule and access constraints
Occupied buildings, clinical environments and multi-unit properties often need phased work. Record access windows, shutdown limitations and required notice periods early.
A strong scope creates a practical baseline for pricing, coordination and change management.
